Support our Youth Leaders going to Youth Weekend Away

We’d love to help our Youth Leaders get to the Youth Weekend Away, because we also want them to go to MYC a few weeks later!! We’re hoping to raise $10,000 to make it easy for them to get there.

We believe that God calls his people to a life of cheerful generosity. This generosity with all that we have is the right and appropriate response to the God who is—and will always be—generous towards us.

A Christian’s desire to give to church should spring from this generosity, and not from feeling pressured or forced to do so. That’s one of the reasons we never “pass a plate” around during our Sunday meetings, but we encourage and challenge each other through the scriptures to grow in our generosity.

At Hunter Bible Church we believe that those who are part of our church family will want to share the costs of staffing and facilitating our shared conviction to be a growing and grounded church for Christ. The most helpful way our members can share in covering these kingdom costs is by setting up an automatic transfer from their bank account to the Church bank account.

2026 Financial Plans (i.e. Best Guess)

From a financial perspective we’ve spent the last few years preparing to buy, develop and move into out own property at Garden suburb, while still renting space in the City and on Campus, and all while prayerfully seeking to welcome more and more people; to save the lost and grow the saved. 2024-2025 have been financially significant, as we’ve had planned losses in these years (after multiple years of sustained surpluses).

After the Best Guess campaign in Nov 2025, it looks like our Total General Giving (incl. ongoing Building Fund Giving) will be about $2.49m in 2026. That’s about 18% higher than 2025, and about 5% higher than our basic 2026 budget.

Some key points we’ve taken into account for 2026

• We’ve planned to retain the staff FTE levels at their current amount, although this continues to be a stretch at our church size and multi-site complexity. While we’ve tried to keep staff salaries growing with the economy, there is a small reduction in overall staff expenses due to several MTS employees wrapping up, and a reconfiguration of how we’re packaging ministry employee packages which benefits both staff and church.

• After 2025 we have a much better idea of expenses incurred with operating the Garden Suburb site, which as made planning for 2026 easier. We expect to start offsetting/paying down the loan from the start of 2026.

• The most significant expenses changes expected in 2026 are Insurance premiums and Program overheads (food, resources, etc.)

Our big prayer is that God would use our generosity, and help us to wisely steward his resources to grow Jesus’ kingdom. We’re prayerful that our conservative understanding of people’s Best Guess would be far surpassed by God’s grace and his people’s heart.
