City 5pm Service

Hunter Bible Church’s City 5pm Service is on every Sunday at 5pm at The Alice Ferguson Community Centre in Caldwell Street, Merewether.

This gathering is designed to be laid back, friendly and open to people of all ages and backgrounds.  Each week we want to encourage you to meet people and have great conversations.  Make the most of this by coming to our ‘Early Bird Cafe’ (4.30pm) and by hanging around after church for supper, or perhaps even sharing a meal with people.

What should I expect?

We want you to feel completly comfortable at Hunter Bible Church. When you arrive, we’ll give you an outline, and you are free to sit wherever you like. You won’t be asked to introduce yourself, or read or pray out loud. If you’re a visitor, we’d love you to simply get a feel for what goes on at our City meeting.

What will happen in the meeting?

Our aim at Hunter Bible Church is to have solid and relevant Bible teaching set in the context of warm and engaging singing with time to reflect and pray.

At each meeting we spend some time singing and looking at the Bible. You don’t have to bring a Bible with you-there are lots there for you to use if you want.

When you come, we’d love to know you came, and a great way to let us know is to fill in the feedback form that came with your outline. All your details are strictly confidential, and will only be seen by the Hunter Bible Church leadership team.

The service runs for about an hour and a half all up. After this formal part has ended, there’s supper provided so you can hang around for as long as you like. Please come and introduce yourself to one of the staff or people you saw up the front. We’d love to meet you and welcome you to Hunter Bible Church.

What should I wear?

People at Hunter Bible Church are pretty relaxed and casual.  We want you to come however you feel comfortable.  So you can come in anything from your wetsuit to your dinner tux (and of course anything in between).
