Children’s minister and the budgetary challenge (Kids and Kash)

by Lachlan Wetherall | Posted on July 31st in Pastors thoughts

Last week at church Greg Lee announced that Andrew Horsfield from our 10am congregation has been offered and has accepted the position of children’s minister for HBC, working 3 days a week. (Ben Broadfoot will continue with the youth work.)

This is both exciting, and a challenge. Exciting because there is so much need and Andrew is ready to launch into it all, but also a challenge, because although we have budgeted for this position for this year, our financial giving is currently running behind budget.

For those who don’t know much about Andrew you can listen to Greg’s interview with Andrew last Sunday, followed by Greg’s challenge to us about our financial situation.

FANTASTIC. I am so encouraged by listening to the interview with Andrew. He is spot-on when he talks about the centrality of parents in growing Christian kids, We will be praying for all the HBC families as they support the ministry staff that support them, in their mammoth task of parenting their kids counter-culturally in the ways of the Lord Jesus!! :)
PS. Just to share a resource for having gospel truth in your house, here is a CD that we love to play at home and my 10-year old stepdaughter loves to sing along to it: http://www.sovereigngracemusic.org/albums/category/sovereign_grace_music/walking_with_the_wise
