Have you really had enough free food from o-week yet?
Of course not!

Come along to check out UniChurch this week. We’re having a bit of a BBQ before church so you can meet some UniChurch regulars, and get a feel about the type of church we are. It starts at 6pm just outside the CT theatre (next to the Math’s bus stop). Its all free, so just bring an appitite and anyone else you know!

Check out the sermon series we’re starting this week too… The Chronicles of Daniel.

Daniel Sermon Series at UniChurch

by Dave Moore | Posted on February 18th in Sermon Series, UniChurch   2 Comments »

Starting from week 1 of semester, Greg Lee will be preaching a series at UniChurch on the exciting book of Daniel.

The king ordered Ashpenaz, chief of his court officials, to bring in some of the Israelites from the royal family and the nobility-young men without any physical defect, handsome, showing aptitude for every kind of learning, well informed, quick to understand, and qualified to serve in the king’s palace. He was to teach them the language and literature of the Babylonians.

Among these were: Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah…

Daniel 1:3-6

The adventures of Daniel are often thought of as an example of great human endurance, but as we look at God’s Word, we’ll see that the greatness of humanity is far from the focus of this book.

Come along to UniChurch (on campus at the CT202 building) and get your assumptions about God smashed. Arrive at 6.30pm for food and nibblies, before a 7pm start.

Bushfire Appeal

by Dave Allen | Posted on February 13th in Membership, Pastors thoughts   No Comments »

We want to love the victims of the Victorian bushfires. There are lots of ways to do this; pray, give blood, give money to Red Cross. We are joining in partnership with a local church in the bushfire area - Whittlesea Presbyterian Church. They will continue to care for people over the longer term after many people around Australia have stopped thinking about it. They are planning to distribute care packages containing Bunnings vouchers, plants and other practical things to help people get back on their feet and rebuild their lives. If you want to give money to this, put it in an envelope clearly marked ‘Bush Fire Partnership’ and we will pass it on for you.

Check out this video to see the Whittlesea Pressie minister Evan Prentice talking about the bushfires. Whittlesea Presbyterian

Essential Jesus Sermon Series

by Dave Moore | Posted on February 9th in Sermon Series   No Comments »

There really are so many different ideas about who Jesus is these days… Hippy Jesus? Moral Jesus? Preachy Jesus? But what does Jesus say about himself? What is the bare-bones honest truth about the most influential man on earth?

Starting on April 19, Sam Hilton will be stating a sermon seires called ‘Essential Jesus’. Each week, at all three Hunter Bible Church congregations, Sam will move his way through the first nine chapters of the book of Luke in the Bible. The book of Luke is a clear and simple account of Jesus’ life and teachings that will not only change your view of Jesus, but could also change your view on life.

Many have undertaken to draw up an account of the things that have been fulfilled among us. Therefore, since I myself have carefully investigated everything from the beginning, it seemed good also to me to write an orderly account for you, most excellent Theophilus, so that you may know the certainty of the things you have been taught.

Luke 1:1-4

Come along to one of our meetings on Sunday (Lambton 10am, City 5pm, UniChurch 7pm) and have your preconceptions about Jesus and life challenged.

Hunter Bible Church Camp - ‘Walking with Jesus’ - March 6-8 2009

by Dave Moore | Posted on February 9th in Events   Comments Off

This year all three Hunter Bible Church congregations are going away for the weekend together. We’re going to be spending time looking at Jesus, and what it means to be his disciple. There’ll also be lots of fun activities for the kids and loads of time to relax. We’re not going to fill the program with loads of things, but there’ll be enough on for you to have a great weekend; a weekend in God’s Word, and with God’s people.

If you’d like to sign up, please email dave@hunterbiblechurch.org asap, as time is running out.
